New Delhi: Energy Maharatna Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has signed an agreement with Sanjeeva Singh Archery Institute Trust to set up Asia’s first Rural Olympic Archery Hostel in Kanhauli village, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. The initiative aims to identify, train, and nurture rural archery talent to prepare athletes for the 2036 Olympics, supporting India’s vision of becoming a top-10 sporting nation.
Pioneering Rural Talent Development in Archery
The Rural Olympic Archery Hostel will serve as a dedicated training facility for aspiring archers from rural backgrounds. The program focuses on creating a strong grassroots talent pipeline, providing professional coaching, infrastructure, and support to young athletes with Olympic potential.
This project is aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of developing India as a global sporting powerhouse by 2036, coinciding with India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games.
