At the third session of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister delivered a strong message to the global community — the future of technology and progress must belong to everyone, not just a select few. Addressing the theme “A Fair and a Just Future for All – Critical Minerals; Decent Work; Artificial Intelligence”, he urged world leaders to rethink how transformative technologies are promoted across the globe.
The Prime Minister stressed that the current model of technological advancement needs a fundamental overhaul. According to him, innovation should be built around human needs rather than financial gains, global participation rather than narrow nationalism, and open-source structures rather than exclusive systems. He highlighted that India has already embedded this philosophy into its own digital ecosystem, producing exceptional outcomes in sectors like space technology, artificial intelligence and digital payments, where the country has emerged as a global frontrunner.
Turning specifically to Artificial Intelligence, the Prime Minister detailed India’s multi-dimensional approach rooted in equal access, mass-scale skill development and responsible use of technology. He explained that the India-AI Mission is developing accessible high-performance computing infrastructure to ensure that the advantages of AI reach citizens across the country, not just a privileged segment.
Calling for global responsibility, he proposed that AI must evolve as a force for collective good. To achieve this, he recommended an international compact centred around transparency, human oversight, safety-first principles and safeguards against misuse. Emphasizing that AI should enhance human potential rather than replace it, he reiterated that final authority and critical decision-making must always remain with humans.
The Prime Minister also underlined the urgent need to shift the global mindset from merely discussing the “jobs of today” to building the “capabilities of tomorrow”. Referring to the outcomes of the New Delhi G20 Summit, he suggested that the member nations should work toward creating a Global Framework for Talent Mobility in the coming years to enable ethical, efficient and seamless workforce movement.
In closing, the Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to a world where growth benefits everyone. He summarised India’s position with a clear message — development must be sustainable, trade must be trustworthy, finance must be fair, and progress must lead to shared prosperity.
He also announced that India will host the AI Impact Summit in February 2026 with the theme “Sarvajanam Hitaya, Sarvajanam Sukhaya” (Welfare for all, Happiness for all) and invited all G20 nations to participate in the effort.
