Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday 11 AM, addressed the newly commissioner IPS officers through video conferencing at Hyderabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Minister of State for home affairs Nityanand Rai also attended the event.
During the virtual meet, PM Modi interacted with several IPS probationers about their training experience and the way they will use their past experience in policing. The PM also mentioned that the officers are on a 25-year “special mission” to make policing in the country socially responsible so that an accountable framework is laid by the time India celebrates 100 years of Independence in 2047.
PM Modi also shared his thoughts about the “negative connotation” associated with the police force in India and how they have to work hard to improve it.
“Over the past 75 years, India has strived to improve police training,” PM Modi said. “Now we can look forward to laying out a better framework for the same in the future.”
