Addressing Ageing Infrastructure with Modern Solutions
Many of India’s critical ministries currently operate out of old buildings like Shastri Bhawan, Krishi Bhawan, Udyog Bhawan, and Nirman Bhawan, constructed between the 1950s and 1970s. These structures have become inefficient and costly to maintain.
Kartavya Bhavan – 03 aims to reduce repair and maintenance costs, boost productivity, and improve employee well-being. The state-of-the-art facility will offer IT-ready secure workspaces with ID card-based access, integrated electronic surveillance, and a centralized command system.
Sustainable Design for the Future
Kartavya Bhavan – 03 exemplifies the government’s commitment to sustainability, targeting a GRIHA-4 rating. Its eco-friendly features include:
- Double-glazed façades to reduce heat gain
- Rooftop solar panels and solar water heating systems
- Advanced HVAC systems for energy efficiency
- Rainwater harvesting systems
- Zero-discharge waste management and in-house solid waste processing
- Electric vehicle charging stations
- Extensive use of recycled construction materials
These initiatives ensure the building supports green governance while enhancing functionality and comfort.
Boosting Administrative Efficiency and Innovation
By bringing together scattered ministries into a centralized campus, Kartavya Bhavan – 03 is designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and rapid policy implementation. This integration aims to create a more agile administrative ecosystem capable of responding swiftly to citizens’ needs.
