Bengaluru: In a significant development resolving a long-standing inter-PSU dispute, ITI Limited, India’s pioneering telecom PSU, has received the final tranche of ₹25 crore from the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT). The payment marks the successful closure of a ₹200 crore land transaction between the two government entities.

According to an official exchange filing, the transfer follows a Revised Order issued by the Administrative Mechanism for Resolution of CPSEs Disputes (AMRCD). Under the terms of the order, ITI Ltd was required to transfer 22.258 acres of land located at Electronic City in Bengaluru to C-DOT through a formal sale deed.

The land parcel, situated in a strategic industrial and technology hub, was at the center of a prolonged ownership and usage dispute. The revised AMRCD proceedings streamlined the resolution by setting a fixed compensation of ₹200 crore for the land. ITI Ltd had earlier received ₹175 crore in earlier tranches, and the final ₹25 crore now completes the financial commitment from C-DOT.

Strategic Significance for ITI Ltd

The settlement comes as a welcome move for ITI Ltd, providing a much-needed financial infusion to support its ongoing modernization and digital infrastructure expansion. With legacy disputes being cleared, the company is expected to realign its focus toward core operations in telecom equipment manufacturing, smart infrastructure, and next-generation communication technologies.

Governance Model in Focus

This resolution also highlights the effectiveness of AMRCD, the government’s institutional mechanism to amicably resolve inter-PSU disputes. By finalizing the land transfer without prolonged litigation, the process stands as a model for dispute resolution among central public sector enterprises.
