New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), has announced a significant change in its Board of Directors with the appointment of 1997 batch IAS officer Kamini Chauhan Ratan, Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, MoP&NG, as the new Government Nominee Director.
Her appointment is effective from June 19, 2025, and comes as part of the regular rotation of government nominees on PSU boards.
Ratan Replaces Asheesh Joshi on GAIL Board
Ms Ratan replaces Asheesh Joshi, Joint Secretary, MoP&NG, who previously served as Government Nominee Director on the GAIL board.
As per the official communication from the ministry, Ms Ratan’s appointment will be for a period of three years on a co-terminus basis with her tenure in the ministry or until further orders – whichever is earlier.
Appointment in Compliance with SEBI and Governance Norms
GAIL confirmed that all required regulatory and administrative formalities are being carried out to complete the appointment. The company also stated that it will make necessary disclosures under SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations in due course.
This nomination aligns with the company’s commitment to robust corporate governance and compliance with regulatory mandates.
