REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary fully owned by REC Limited – a prestigious Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power and a prominent NBFC – has transferred ownership of two project-oriented Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) dedicated to the execution of two distinct power transmission ventures.
One SPV, named Kallam Transco Limited, was established for the “Western Region Network Expansion Scheme in the Kallam region of Maharashtra”, a cross-state transmission initiative sponsored by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. This SPV has now been entrusted to the consortium of M/s Indigrid 2 Limited & Indigrid 1 Limited, who emerged as the winning bidders.
The other SPV, Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission Limited, was created for the “Development of a 400/220 kV, 2×500 MVA GIS substation at Metro Depot (Greater Noida) along with associated lines and a 400/220 kV, 2×500 MVA GIS substation at Jalpura”, a project within the state boundaries of Uttar Pradesh. This SPV has been awarded to M/s The Tata Power Company Limited, marking them as the successful bidder.
The formal handover of these SPVs to the respective winning bidders took place on April 5, 2024, witnessed by the CEO of RECPDCL, Shri Rajesh Kumar, along with senior representatives from RECPDCL, REC Limited, the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited, and the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited.
Serving as the Bid Process Coordinator for both projects, RECPDCL facilitated their execution through a competitive tariff-based bidding process.
