SAIL Achieves Highest Ever Annual Production and Sales in FY’24

The chairman of SAIL dedicated this success to company's strategic alignment with increase in demand in the steel market

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Unit under the Ministry of Steel, has achieved its highest ever annual production and sales in the Financial Year (FY) 2024.

This high annual production was recorded in the production of hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel. The increase in production of hot metal was 6%, in crude steel, it was 5% and the rise in sale steel output was 7%. This increase percentage is in comparison with FY’23.

For the fiscal year 2023-24, SAIL achieved production figures of 20.5 Million Tonnes (MT) of hot metal, 19.2 MT of crude steel and 18.4 MT of saleable steel. The company achieved its highest-ever sales volume of 17.1 MT during FY’24, registering a growth of more than 5% over CPLY.

Mr. Amarendu Prakash, the chairman of SAIL, dedicated this success to company’s strategic alignment that is in sync with the increased demand in the steel market.

He also affirmed SAIL’s commitment to increase the company’s production capabilities in tune with the market requirements.
