Bhopal — In a major step toward enhancing public safety and rapid emergency response, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday launched the Madhya Pradesh Police’s new emergency service ‘Dial-112’, marking a significant upgrade from the state’s successful Dial-100 model. The service aims to offer swift assistance across various emergencies, using modern technology, increased manpower, and a new fleet of 1,200 First Response Vehicles (FRVs).
“Criminals Will Not Escape” — CM Yadav’s Firm Warning
While flagging off the FRVs in Bhopal, CM Dr. Mohan Yadav declared that criminals will no longer be able to evade the law in Madhya Pradesh. He praised the state’s police force for their dedication and technological adaptability, stating, “Police have been given complete freedom to act against those involved in unlawful activities. This service will ensure immediate help and quick process for citizens in distress.”
Fleet of 1,200 First Response Vehicles Flagged Off
A total of 1,200 FRVs, including robust vehicles like Scorpio and Bolero Neo, were launched across the state as part of the Dial-112 rollout. These vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art communication systems, GPS tracking, emergency equipment, and are backed by upgraded control rooms featuring advanced analytics and response coordination tools.
The state government has allocated over ₹1,500 crore to bolster infrastructure, including vehicle procurement, training, and tech upgrades.
From Dial-100 to Dial-112: A Technological Leap
The previous Dial-100 model, launched in 2015, was a pioneering initiative that helped over 19 lakh women, 2.23 lakh elderly citizens, 1,300 newborns, and reunited over 23,000 missing children with their families. Recognised as a model by several states, including Uttar Pradesh, it laid the groundwork for the more integrated and advanced Dial-112 service.
Dial-112, aligned with the National Emergency Response System (NERS), now provides a unified helpline for police, fire, and medical emergencies, replacing the need for multiple numbers.

DGP Kailash Makwana: A Historic Day for MP Police
Speaking on the occasion, Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana described the launch as a historic milestone. He highlighted the tireless work of police personnel in building the system and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to serving citizens promptly and professionally.
“With the integration of Dial-112, people in distress will get faster help with better coordination. The new vehicles and upgraded system will further improve our response time,” he said.
Training, Appointments & Modern Policing
The CM also mentioned key reforms within the police department, including:
- New appointments to strengthen manpower
- Specialised training to enhance efficiency
- Digital innovations like sending summons via video calls and internet
- Infrastructure upgrades including shelters and duty gates for police personnel
These steps reflect a broader shift in the policing style of Madhya Pradesh, aligning with modern law enforcement techniques.
14 August: A Reminder of Partition’s Tragedy
In his address, CM Yadav also reflected on the significance of August 14, calling it a day to remember the horrors of Partition. He lauded the police and armed forces for their past and present sacrifices, saying, “India today is stronger and more capable than ever, thanks to our jawans and strong leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
