New Delhi: IAS officer Roopa Mishra (IAS:2004:Odisha) has been granted a six-month extension as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on March 25, 2026, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal to extend her deputation tenure from February 2, 2026, for six months or until further orders.
Mishra has held this post since August 24, 2021, initially on a five-year central deputation. Her term was first extended by one year till February 2026, and now she has been granted an additional six months.
Before joining MoHUA, she served as Director in the Ministry of Jal Shakti, handling Drinking Water and Sanitation from February 2020.
IAS Ramandeep Chowdhary appointed Director in Ministry of Food Processing Industries
IAS officer Ramandeep Chowdhary (IAS:2008:Karnataka) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Delhi, for a period of five years.
The DoPT order issued on March 24, 2026, confirmed his appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure will last five years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders.
Currently, Chowdhary serves as Secretary, Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics Department in Karnataka.
IAS Krishna Kumar appointed Deputy Secretary in Department of Rural Development
IAS officer Krishna Kumar (IAS:2013:Manipur) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Rural Development for a period of four years.
According to a DoPT order on March 23, 2026, his appointment is also under the Central Staffing Scheme, effective for four years from taking charge of the post or until further orders.
