New Delhi: Saumitra P Srivastava has officially taken charge as the Director (Marketing) at IndianOil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), India’s largest public sector energy company. With a career spanning over three decades, Srivastava brings deep expertise in downstream operations, retail strategy, digital transformation, and customer-centric marketing.
From IIT Roorkee to the Top of IndianOil
An alumnus of IIT Roorkee with a degree in Civil Engineering, and an Executive MBA from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai, Srivastava started his journey in IndianOil in the LPG business segment.
Over the years, he has taken on leadership roles in various domains including –
- Sales & Retail Operations
- Divisional leadership in New Delhi and Mumbai
- Zonal sales leadership in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand
- State Head for Maharashtra & Goa

Srivastava has been the architect of multiple transformation projects, including:

He has also played a pivotal role in digitizing the customer experience, enhancing operational efficiency, and redefining IndianOil’s marketing roadmap.

Prior to his elevation, he served as Executive Director (Corporate Strategy), where he focused on:

Vision as Director (Marketing)
In his new role, Srivastava will oversee IndianOil’s marketing operations and infrastructure across India, including:
- Retail, LPG, and aviation fuel businesses
- Marketing innovation

- Spearheading the transition to sustainable and future-ready fuels
His appointment comes at a time when IndianOil is accelerating its green energy transition and reinforcing its leadership in the evolving energy sector.
