New Delhi: In a strong display of operational and financial performance, SJVN Limited held its 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, where Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta presented key achievements from the fiscal year 2024–25. Describing the period as “a defining year of operational excellence,” Gupta highlighted record-breaking generation figures, increased profitability, and strategic milestones that have further solidified the company’s position in India’s energy sector.
Record Generation Across Projects
SJVN reported its highest-ever power generation of 10,647 million units (MU) in FY25 across its operational hydro power projects. The flagship 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station led the performance with several record-breaking outputs:
- Highest-ever quarterly generation: 3,450.98 MU
- Record single-day generation: 39.572 MU
- Monthly record: 1,222.170 MU
Similarly, the 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station set its own benchmarks:
- Highest monthly generation: 292.331 MU
- Quarterly record: 955.616 MU
The newly commissioned 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station exceeded its design energy expectations in its debut operational year, producing 316.40 MU.

Robust Financial Performance in FY25
SJVN posted strong financials for FY 2024–25:
- Revenue from Operations: ₹2,897.25 crore (up from ₹2,533.59 crore in FY24)
- Standalone Profit After Tax (PAT): ₹970.18 crore (up from ₹908.40 crore)
- Final Dividend: ₹0.31 per share (total dividend for FY25: ₹1.46 per share)
The company also achieved its best-ever trade receivables level, bringing it down to just 15 days of revenue, one of the lowest in the Indian power sector.
Strategic Milestones and Navratna Status
FY25 was marked by SJVN’s elevation to Navratna PSU status on August 30, 2024, a recognition of its strong financials and strategic role in India’s power generation mission. Key achievements during the year included:
- Added capacity of 691 MW, bringing total installed capacity to 2,967.52 MW across 12 projects
- Synchronization of the first 660 MW unit of the Buxar Thermal Power Project with the national grid on August 21, 2025, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Sustained Focus on Governance and CSR
SJVN continued its commitment to social impact and governance:
- CSR Spend: ₹31.24 crore on healthcare, education, livelihoods, and infrastructure
- Corporate Governance: Retained an ‘Excellent’ rating by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE)
Outlook for FY26 and Q1 Performance
Looking ahead, the company has set ambitious targets:
- FY26 MoU generation target: 13,090 MU
- Planned Capex: ₹12,000 crore
In Q1 FY26, SJVN reported:
- Generation: 3,681.60 MU
- Revenue: ₹822.4 crore
- Profit After Tax: ₹258.51 crore
CMD Bhupender Gupta expressed confidence in sustaining growth through capacity expansion, efficiency improvements, and renewable energy projects.
