In a significant step toward realizing the Digital India vision, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has fully digitized its process of forwarding selected candidates’ documents by replacing physical dossiers with electronic dossiers (e-dossiers). The initiative aims to enhance the speed, transparency, and security of document transmission to various Ministries and Departments.
The e-dossier system is now being used for key recruitment examinations such as the Junior Engineer Examination 2024, Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination 2024, Multi-Tasking Staff Examination 2024, and Combined Graduate Level Examination 2024. Through the SSC’s e-dossier portal, candidate dossiers are compiled digitally and made available to designated nodal officers of the concerned government departments for initiating pre-appointment formalities.
This digitized system brings several advantages. It ensures data integrity and document security, as access to dossiers is restricted to secure login credentials and every transaction is logged for traceability. It also allows for faster and more efficient communication between SSC and Ministries, expediting the recruitment process.
Additionally, the e-dossier system contributes to cost savings and environmental sustainability by eliminating the need for physical paperwork. This initiative not only strengthens the integrity of the recruitment process but also significantly benefits lakhs of youth by reducing the time taken to complete formalities before joining their respective posts.
