New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and relevant aviation authorities have announced the temporary suspension of civil flight operations at 32 airports across northern and western India from 9th May to 14th May 2025, effective until 0529 IST on 15th May 2025, due to operational reasons.
The affected airports include key hubs such as Amritsar, Chandigarh, Jammu, Leh, Srinagar, and Jodhpur, among others. The full list of airports impacted by this temporary closure is as follows:

- Awantipur
- Bathinda
- Bhuj
- Bikaner
- Chandigarh
- Halwara
- Hindon
- Jaisalmer
- Jammu
- Jamnagar
- Jodhpur
- Kandla
- Kangra (Gaggal)
- Keshod
- Kishangarh
- Kullu Manali (Bhuntar)
- Leh
- Ludhiana
- Mundra
- Naliya
- Pathankot
- Patiala
- Porbandar
- Rajkot (Hirasar)
- Sarsawa
- Shimla
- Srinagar
- Thoise
- Uttarlai
During this period, all civil flight activities at these airports will be suspended, and airlines have been advised to make alternate arrangements for affected routes.
In addition to the airport closures, the AAI has also announced the temporary closure of 25 Air Traffic Service (ATS) route segments within the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs) due to operational constraints. This suspension will last until 2359 UTC on 14th May 2025 (or 0529 IST on 15th May 2025), rendering these airways unavailable from ground level to unlimited altitude.
Flight operators are being urged to adjust their routes accordingly and are advised to adhere to current air traffic advisories. Aviation authorities are working closely with Air Traffic Control (ATC) units to ensure the safety of all flights and to minimize disruptions.
The suspension is expected to impact both domestic and international air travel, and affected travelers are encouraged to check with airlines for updates on their flight status.
