A detailed roadmap aimed at transforming the Uttar Pradesh Police into a world-class law enforcement force will be prepared within a month, under the leadership of DGP Rajeev Krishna (1991-batch IPS officer). The plan will be based on inputs from police personnel across various ranks as well as feedback from citizens who have interacted with the police on crime-related issues. The most effective and practical suggestions will be implemented to enhance police functioning across all domains.

Presentations to Begin Monday
Field officers and those from the police headquarters have been assigned areas of responsibility according to their expertise. Beginning Monday, officers will start presenting their proposals to the DGP. Proposals will be judged based on simplicity, practicality, and effectiveness, with special attention to ensuring minimal operational burden on ground-level police staff.
Constables to ADGs Involved in Reforms
For the first time, personnel from the rank of constable up to Additional Director General (ADG) are being involved in the process of shaping reform strategies. DGP Krishna has instructed all participants to build their plans around nine key principles, including:
- Clear, time-bound goals
- Integration of AI and emerging tech
- Community and stakeholder engagement
- Practical, field-friendly implementation
- Targeted feedback from women, youth, and business groups
Phased Implementation Under DGP Headquarters Supervision
The reforms will be rolled out in phases under the direct supervision of the DGP Headquarters, with the ultimate aim of transforming UP Police into a modern, efficient, and citizen-centric force.
