UPPSC Lecturer Jobs 2025: 1516 Posts, New B.Ed Rule, Apply Online via OTR – Details Inside

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has begun accepting online applications from today for the recruitment of spokespersons (lecturers) in Government Inter Colleges (GICs) across the state. This long-awaited recruitment drive, coming after four and a half years, includes 1516 posts across various categories and institutions.

In a key change from previous years, the eligibility criteria have been revised. Now, in addition to a postgraduate degree, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree is mandatory for all applicants, in accordance with the new rules issued by the state government.

Post Breakdown: 1516 Vacancies Across GICs and Special Schools

The UPPSC is recruiting for the following positions

  • 1471 spokesperson (lecturer) posts in Government Inter Colleges
  • 777 in male branch
  • 694 in female branch
  • 43 posts in Sparsh Drishtibadhit Government Inter Colleges / Integrated Special Secondary Schools
  • 2 posts of Professor in Uttar Pradesh Jail Training School Service

Key Dates and Correction Window

  • Application Start Date: August 12, 2025
  • Last Date to Apply: September 12, 2025
  • Last Date for Corrections: September 19, 2025

Candidates are advised to complete their applications well in advance and ensure all documents are accurate to avoid rejection during verification.

Eligibility Criteria: Age and Education

Educational Qualification

Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject plus B.Ed

  • B.Ed is newly added as a required qualification
  • Age Limit (as on July 1, 2025):
  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 40 years
  • Candidate must be born between July 2, 1985, and July 1, 2004

OTR System Mandatory for Application

The UPPSC Secretary has stressed that only applications submitted via the One Time Registration (OTR) system will be accepted.

Key points about OTR

  • Candidates must generate a System Number before applying
  • Personal details, photo, and signature are entered once
  • These can be updated any time before final submission
  • OTR streamlines the application process for current and future exams

Background: First Lecturer Recruitment Since 2020

This is the first recruitment for lecturers in Government Inter Colleges since December 2020, when UPPSC invited applications for 1473 posts (991 male, 482 female). The 2025 recruitment not only surpasses the previous count but also includes positions in special education institutions and correctional training services.

Interestingly, this new lecturer recruitment has been initiated just two weeks after the commission opened online applications for LT Grade Teachers on July 28, signaling a renewed push in public education hiring by the state.
