With the increasing number of civil services exam applicants each year, people belonging to backward areas and communities are focusing on entering the All India Services. India charitable society Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) has also taken an initiative to train communities like Ezhava in Kerala for CSE at leading institutes in Thiruvananthapuram.
To ensure the recognition and development of the Ezhava community, the SNDP has initiated a program to send the selected community members for UPSC coaching which will be valid for two years. For a single person Rs. 1,70,000 per year has been allotted which will cover their accommodation and study expense.
Vellappally Natesan, SNDP General Secretary who thinks very fewer members of the Ezhava community are serving in the public administration said that, though the central government is ensuring CSE coaching to the backward communities, they do not consider members from the Ezhava community under this program. The situation will go worse if people from this community don’t enter the civil services.
SNDP also posted on Facebook which said that five members will be selected from its branches after which a test will be conducted. Candidates having an educational background of MA, MSc, MCom, BTech, and MBBS will be selected for coaching. After the completion of the test, 20 candidates will be selected for civil services exam coaching. They have also planned for its own coaching centre for Ezhava students in future.
