With 17 districts of Uttar Pradesh reeling under floodwaters due to incessant rains and overflowing rivers from hilly terrains, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has deployed state ministers on the ground to supervise relief and rescue efforts. The move aims to ensure that the administration responds with urgency, transparency, and compassion, reaching every flood victim without delay.
During a high-level review meeting, CM Yogi directed ministers and officials alike to lead the relief mission with utmost sensitivity. “This is a time of service, awareness, and vigilance. Every government representative and resource must stand with the people,” the Chief Minister emphasized.
Ministers at Ground Zero
On CM Yogi’s instructions, Cabinet and State Ministers have reached the flood-hit areas to assess the situation, visit relief camps, and ensure efficient coordination.
- Cabinet Minister Swatantra Dev Singh visited Jalaun and Hamirpur on Sunday, reviewed camp facilities, interacted with victims, and stressed immediate provision of clean water, food, medical care, and power supply.
- Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ reached Prayagraj, distributing relief materials and surveying submerged areas by boat. He instructed authorities to intensify rescue operations and strengthen relief camp facilities.
- Minister of State (Independent Charge) Dharamvir Prajapati travelled by boat to flood-hit villages in Etawah, assured victims of government support, and reviewed provisions for food, medicines, clean drinking water, and fodder for livestock.
- Minister Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’ toured Ballia’s riverbank areas, inspected embankments and relief distribution, and stressed 24×7 surveillance at sensitive sites to prevent lapses in relief delivery.
- In Varanasi South, former minister and MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari personally delivered relief supplies to affected homes in Konia and Rajghat.
- Minister of State Sanjay Gangwar, who visited Jalaun, directed officials to intensify medical aid and take preventive steps against waterborne diseases, while resolving victims’ complaints on priority.
Continuous Monitoring by CM Yogi
CM Yogi Adityanath is closely monitoring the situation, holding daily reviews and coordinating relief efforts from the state capital. He has reiterated the state’s commitment to the principle of “Sarkar Har Peedit Ke Saath” (The Government stands with every victim).
Relief Infrastructure Fully Mobilised
Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) are actively deployed. District administrations are operating round the clock, ensuring field-level supervision, coordination, and uninterrupted aid.
The Chief Minister has issued strict directions to maintain transparency, ensure timely response, and act with empathy. Relief and rehabilitation operations will continue until assistance reaches every single affected person, he assured.
The ongoing efforts underscore the state government’s resolve to provide swift and compassionate relief amidst one of the most widespread flood crises witnessed this monsoon.
