Dr. C. Suvarna, a 1991-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer, has taken full additional charge as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Head of Forest Force) for Telangana following the retirement of Mr. Rakesh Mohan Dobriyal. She assumed the charge on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Dr. Suvarna continues to hold her responsibilities as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests for the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) and for the Forest Conservation Act (FCA).
In her distinguished career, Dr. Suvarna has served in various key capacities, including as Chief Executive Officer of the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Commissioner of Fisheries for Telangana, Member Secretary of the Telangana State Biodiversity Board, and Director of the Andhra Pradesh Forest Academy. Her significant contributions to inland fisheries development in Telangana played a key role in her elevation as NFDB’s CEO.
Academically, she holds a professional development certificate in Natural Resources Management from Cornell University, in addition to Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Agriculture from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University.
