We are all familiar with the role of IAS officers in overseeing the administrative aspects of a district. They are responsible for assessing the advancements made by various departments and offering essential insights to subordinate officers and staff members. In addition to this, they actively participate in executing government welfare and development initiatives, thereby keeping them engaged in achieving targets.
Occasionally, these officers also conduct on-site visits to identify challenges. Recently, two IAS officers embarked on visits to schools within their respective regions in the Adilabad district. These two officials, who share a keen interest in the field of education, paid visits to government schools to investigate the teaching methodologies and amenities available to students.
These officers are Chahat Baj Pai, serving as a project officer for the Integrated Tribal Development Organization in Utnur, Adilabad District, and K Varun Reddy, who holds the position of Nirmal District Collector. Remarkably, they are also a married couple. By coincidence, during their ongoing tours, the duo inspected educational institutions, delving into the facilities offered and the curriculum implemented by these schools.
Reportedly, IAS Reddy visited the Social Welfare Gurukula College and School, even taking a math class for tenth-grade students. He generously shared numerous tips for excelling in mathematics, and his session was highly appreciated by students. They not only engaged with him but also openly discussed their challenges.
Concurrently, his spouse conducted an unexpected inspection of the Tribal Girls Ashram schools located in the Bejjur Mandal village of Asifabad district, Telangana. She began by interacting with students and subsequently inquired about attendance rates, success percentages, and educational provisions from the teachers. Furthermore, she actively participated in teaching some students. Later, she also scrutinized the inventory and stock records in the storeroom, personally inquiring about the quality of meals provided to the students.
During a recent media interview, IAS Chahat Baj Pai expressed her belief that establishing specialized classes for students in every tribal school could enhance pass percentages. She also mentioned that the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) is committed to supporting students pursuing higher education. Additionally, she provided guidance to teachers, urging them to maintain cleanliness on school grounds and in dormitories throughout the rainy season to prevent the outbreak of seasonal illnesses.
