The official X handle of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has posted an inspiring video of the cleaning of a river by officers of the CGST & Customs Guwahati Zone.
The Umkaliar river in Meghalaya was cleaned by a team of officers under a CBIC’s All India Special Campaign. The scenic beauty of this cascading river and its banks gets spoiled very often by tourists’ littering. Hence, it was a pleasant sight for the locals and tourists both to see a team of dedicated officers descending on the riverside with brooms in hand, wearing caps and gloves. They picked up all the litter and loaded them onto a garbage truck.
Once their task was completed, it was a scene to behold with happy faces, clean surroundings, and a gushing river!
