People go into the forests for some relief from their busy life and to be close to nature. But some go there for enjoyment and clicking selfies. They not only breach the peace of the jungle, but also disturb the animals. In such a case in lakhimpur Kheri’s Dudhwa National Park, three man jeopardized their lives for the sake of a photo with a herd of elephants.
1989 batch IFS officer Susanta Nanda shared this video, where three men are being chased angrily by the herd. These men were attempting to take a selfie with the jumbos, going very near to them. This angered the heard and they started trumpeting loudly and chasing them. The men started running and in the process one of them fell down, but managed to scramble up and run again. The incident took place on Tuesday evening at Dudhwa Tiger Reserve. A young man who happened to be on the scene captured this chase on video.
Mr. Nanda tweeted with these words, “For having a selfie, they not only do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm…”

The herd was standing on the road to Palia Gaurifanta of the Tiger Reserve. At the same time, three men approached the elephants. Till then the elephants did not react. Then one of the men started taking selfies with the herd. At that time, the elephants got angry and chased the men.
The elephants stopped only when passersby started making noises, and turned around and went back into the jungle.
