COCA COLA FALLOUT

A recent incident that happened at the European Championship last week coincided with a $4bn fall in the share price of the Coca Cola Company when famous football player and Portugal’s captain, Cristiano Ronaldo removed two bottles of Coca Cola away from him, during a press conference, urging people to drink water instead.

However disappointing the incident was for the company, Uttar Pradesh police came up with its own witty way to use the event and raise awareness among the public.

They launched a poster wherein the Coca-Cola logo is replaced with Covaxin and Covishield, the names of the two COVID-19 vaccines that are being administered across Indiantry. But the name of the brand has been smartly incorporated with the names of the vaccines. In addition to this, the poster also contains a note that says, “Shots of safety,” next to the signature bottle symbol of the brand. Along with the post, the tweet says, “A shot in the arm to prevent the harm!”

Not just coca-cola but the police team also used the brand name of another popular soft drink Thums up, to create awareness, raising a ‘thumbs up’ from the drink’s official Twitter account, as well.

THE MUCH HYPED FRIENDS REUNION

When everyone’s beloved 1994-sitcom Friends announced the reunion of their cast after 17 long years, no one – from young to old – could keep their calm! The much-awaited reunion brought back a lot of childhood memories for people and simultaneously gave Uttar Pradesh police, a chance to let citizens know that they are with them, more so in such hard times.

CHELLAM SIR SUPREMACY

The release of Family Man season 2 glued everyone to their screens after season one literally blew everyone’s minds! The series became so popular that it acquired 4 th place on Amazon Prime.

Making use of the opportunity, the department also tweeted posts in reference to “Chellam sir”, a popular character from the web series, which not only garnered laughs and praises from the citizens but also from Actor Manoj Bajpayee, the lead of the series, himself!

Uttar Pradesh police’s effort to bring a little humor in people’s lives in the midst of this dark pandemic is gaining them good wishes and a number of followers.
