IFS officer Parveen Kaswan has tweeted a photograph of a rare wild cat with the words, “One of the most beautiful wild cat species found in India. Very less known and less seen. Can be identified easily with the white markings on the face. The first right answer will get a book from me.”
The account @selmanderbhai beat others to give the correct answer and sure enough the officer acknowledged it and asked him to send his address to send the promised book.
The correct answer is Asiatic Golden Cat found in Buxa Tiger Reserve (BTR) in West Bengal.
Later the officer gave many details about this species of cat in another tweet on the same thread, along with a newspaper article on it, wherein, he mentioned, “we reported first photographic records of Melanistic Golden Cat from BTR”.
