IAS officer and District Collector of Patiala (Punjab) Ms. Sakshi Sawhney is walking all the way to her office these days. This is part of UN Global Road Safety Week. She will continue this exercise as she believes it is her responsibility to decrease her carbon foot print and help in saving the environment.
Ms. Sawhney also encouraged more people to use bicycle or walk to the office if it is nearby. Else, everyone should focus on car pooling and using public transport. She said, “Walking not only helps in improving the environment but will also increase the well-being and health of the individual.
