Senior IAS officer Manu Kumar Srivastava, who is currently Chief Commissioner, Right to Guarantee of Services (RGS) in Maharashtra, is back to doing what he loves most – singing. The 1986-batch IAS officer joined his current posting after retiring as the chief secretary of the state.
As chief secretary, he hardy got any time to indulge in his passion. This explains why he has uploaded his latest song on his YouTube channel after a long hiatus. His latest cover version of one of his favourite songs was uploaded five days ago and has garnered 2k views till now. His YouTube channel, @Manukumarsrivastava, has 4.44 K subscribers.
Mr. Srivastava told Indian Masterminds, “My professional responsibilities do not allow me to record songs regularly. But, whenever I get an opportunity, I do try and record my favourite songs on my laptop and upload them on my YouTube channel,”
He uses a software called Logic Pro x and Apogee USB microphone for recording on a Macbook Pro laptop. “It allows me to record as per my convenience in the privacy of my home,” he said.
Mr. Srivastava started singing from the age of five with no formal training. His untutored singing continued through his growing up years. “Music always provided a welcome diversion from the tedium of studies.”
Talking about his latest song video, he said, “My latest offering is a song of hope for everyone.”
