Scan a plant and get all details about it. Isn’t this a great idea to instil knowledge about the pant kingdom in young minds, in the era of smart phones?
A government school in Thane district of Maharashtra seems to think so. The students, teachers and staff have planted a kitchen garden within its premises and created a scan tag for each plant containing all its information like species, scientific name, etc. All it takes to get all these details is to scan the tag with a smart phone and, lo and behold, all the information are available on the screen.
A living green library, one could say, breathing out enriching knowledge about the richness of our plant kingdom.
IAS officer Manuj Jindal shared about this interesting concept applied by a school on social media platform X, calling it a “talking library”.
Here is his post:
This is a beautiful ‘Talking’ Kitchen Garden created by teachers and students of Government Zilla Parishad (District Council) school in Kanhor village Thane, Maharashtra.
