Setting a bold roadmap for the next decade, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel on Wednesday launched the visionary report ‘Gujarat@75 – Agenda for 2035’ at Mahatma Mandir. This strategic framework marks the 75th anniversary of Gujarat’s formation and charts a transformative path toward balanced development, focusing on economic prosperity and improved quality of life for every citizen.
A Comprehensive Framework Anchored in the 4I Approach
The ‘Gujarat@75 – Agenda for 2035’ report centers on four critical pillars: infrastructure, innovation, individual empowerment, and institutional excellence. Mr. Patel emphasized that this evidence-based, measurable framework will guide policy planning and implementation over the next ten years, ensuring that Gujarat’s growth is future-ready and people-centric.
“The framework of the ‘Gujarat@75 – Agenda for 2035’ document is built around the 4I approach: infrastructure, innovation, individual, and institutions to ensure Gujarat’s growth remains both future-ready and people-centric,” an official statement explained.
Key Sectoral Goals and Milestones
The ambitious agenda focuses on accelerating progress in health, education, skill development, entrepreneurship, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability. The government’s commitment to inclusive growth aims to uplift every district in Gujarat equally.
Education and Skills Development: By 2035, Gujarat plans to integrate AI-based learning into 7,500 schools and establish 75 advanced skill institutes, creating 7.5 million skilled jobs. The state also envisions expanding medical education and building a comprehensive digital health network that includes health insurance coverage for every family.
Green Infrastructure and Sustainability: The plan includes developing 750 green spaces as ‘urban lungs’, planting 7,500 Miyawaki forests, recycling 75% of municipal wastewater, and constructing 75 iconic buildings to enhance urban aesthetics and sustainability.
Renewable Energy and Clean Industry: Gujarat aims for 75% of its industries to transition to green energy within the next decade. This will be supported by hydrogen plants, 75 gigawatts of wind power capacity, deployment of 7,500 electric buses, and widespread adoption of solar energy.
Infrastructure Development Backed by Massive Investment
The government has outlined an investment plan of Rs. 7.5 lakh crore over the next ten years to boost infrastructure in key sectors including roads, irrigation, ports, transport, water supply, and energy. This comprehensive development strategy is designed to ensure robust economic growth and improved living standards.
Institutional Strengthening and Innovation
Alongside physical infrastructure, the agenda emphasizes strengthening institutions to support innovation, governance, and citizen engagement. This includes fostering entrepreneurship and enabling a digital-first government that is responsive to the needs of its people.
A Vision for Gujarat’s Future
The ‘Gujarat@75 – Agenda for 2035’ is not just a policy document but a commitment to creating a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable Gujarat. Mr. Patel’s vision reaffirms the state’s role as a leader in innovation and development, ready to face future challenges with resilience and foresight.
