Uttar Pradesh is witnessing one of its most significant phases of youth empowerment, driven by the vision and leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath. Through a combination of skill development, job creation, modern training infrastructure, and entrepreneurship support, the state has positioned itself as an emerging national hub for skilled talent and innovation.
Record Skill Training and Job Placements Since 2017
Since 2017, more than 5.66 lakh ITI and polytechnic-trained youth have secured employment under major initiatives such as the Skill India Mission and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana. By April 2025, over 2,800 training centres had been established to impart industry-focused skills, significantly reducing unemployment levels in both rural and urban areas.
Under the CM Yuva Udyami Yojana, thousands of young entrepreneurs are receiving financial assistance along with incubation support, helping them launch new ventures and contribute to the state’s growing start-up ecosystem.
High-Quality Training Aligned With Industry Needs
To ensure modern and high-standard training, Uttar Pradesh now has 1,747 active training partners offering courses in fields that match current industry requirements. Incubation centres across the state are helping youth acquire expertise in domains like digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicle manufacturing.
Regular statewide skill competitions provide platforms for young talent to excel and represent Uttar Pradesh at national and international levels.
Higher Education and Technical Infrastructure Witness Major Expansion
Higher education infrastructure in the state has undergone dramatic growth. The number of medical colleges has nearly doubled—from 42 in 2016-17 to 80 today—significantly increasing MBBS seats and strengthening healthcare services. Engineering colleges too have expanded their offerings with advanced technical programmes.
Furthermore, start-up incubators in universities and colleges are promoting youth-driven entrepreneurship, while inclusive policies ensure equal opportunities for women, SC/ST, OBC, and minority communities.
Mega Job Fairs and Placement Drives Boost Employment
Employment generation has gained strong momentum through regular job fairs and placement drives. At the three-day Rozgar Mahakumbh in Lucknow in August 2025, more than 50,000 jobs were offered by 100 prominent companies—including SBI, HDFC, Swiggy, Zomato, Amazon, and Mahindra.
Upcoming job fairs across Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Varanasi, and Muzaffarnagar are expected to create over 15,000 new opportunities. Monthly district-level placement drives are further bridging the gap between recruiters and job seekers.
Building a Future-Ready Skill Hub for Viksit UP and Viksit Bharat 2047
With a sharp focus on digital, AI, and green jobs, Uttar Pradesh is laying strong foundations to emerge as a major Skill Hub in the coming decade. These initiatives align directly with the long-term vision of Viksit UP and contribute robustly to the national mission of Viksit Bharat-2047.
