On the auspicious occasion of Chhath Mahaparva, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath reached the banks of the Gomti River on Monday evening and offered Arghya to the setting Sun God. Extending heartfelt greetings to the people of the state, he wished for the prosperity, happiness, and well-being of all citizens.
The Chhath festival, a symbol of devotion and purity, was celebrated with immense enthusiasm across Uttar Pradesh, including in the capital city of Lucknow. Fasting women gathered on riverbanks and ghats to offer prayers and devotion to the Sun God, continuing the age-old tradition that represents gratitude, sustainability, and harmony with nature.
Grand Festivities and Preparations in Lucknow
Special arrangements were made throughout Lucknow for the smooth and safe observance of Chhath Mahaparva. The banks of the Gomti River at the Laxman Mela grounds were beautifully decorated, creating a vibrant and devotional atmosphere for devotees.
Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Brajesh Pathak and Mayor Ms. Sushma Kharkwal, visited the Laxman Mela grounds in the evening to participate in the rituals and offer prayers to the Sun God. The visit symbolized the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural and spiritual heritage of Uttar Pradesh.
People’s Participation Reflects Faith and Unity
The atmosphere at the Gomti riverbank was filled with chants of devotion and joy as the Chief Minister offered prayers. Upon seeing him, devotees present at the site chanted “Jai Shri Ram,” adding to the spiritual fervor of the evening. Under the direction of the Uttar Pradesh administration, extensive preparations were undertaken to ensure smooth celebrations across all districts. Ghats were cleaned, lighting and safety arrangements were strengthened, and police and disaster response teams were deployed to manage large gatherings.
