New Affordable Housing and Commercial Projects in Pipeline
To meet rising demand for housing amid escalating land prices, MDDA is preparing to launch multiple affordable housing and commercial projects. Mr. Rakesh Kumar noted that these initiatives will prioritize accessibility for the general public and provide relief to families and businesses seeking budget-friendly options.
Land Bank Creation to Facilitate Public Projects
Recognizing the critical need for land to implement large-scale projects, MDDA is actively creating a land bank in Dehradun. This land will be allocated for future residential and commercial projects, ensuring organized urban growth and transparent land utilization.
Strict Penalties for Non-Compliant Builders
Builders violating regulations, including the ban on constructions exceeding two stories in certain areas, will face immediate action. Orders have been issued to seal unauthorized buildings, file FIRs against offending builders and contractors, and potentially blacklist habitual violators. These measures send a strong message about compliance and accountability.
Digital Mapping Enhances Enforcement and Transparency
MDDA maintains online maps and detailed data of all construction sites. This digital infrastructure allows authorities to identify repeated violations quickly and take decisive action. Mr. Rakesh Kumar stated that blacklisting of non-compliant contractors will be carried out based on these verified records, reinforcing transparency and good governance.
