The Bihar government has promoted three IPS officers and assigned new roles to two others in a series of administrative changes within the state police. The Home Department issued a notification regarding these decisions on Wednesday evening.
Sudhanshu Kumar, a 1996 batch officer, has been relieved of his additional charge of civil defence, Bihar, while continuing as the ADG, Traffic. Anusuya Ransingh Sahu, a 2006 batch IPS officer, has been promoted to Inspector General (IG) of Civil Defence, a department where she previously served as DIG.
Vivek Kumar, from the 2007 batch, has been elevated to DIG of the Crime Investigation Department (CID). He was previously serving as SP, Law and Order, Patna.
In another significant change, Mohammad Faroguddin, a 2009 batch officer and former commandant of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), has been promoted and reassigned as DIG-cum-deputy commandant general of the Homeguard and Fire Services Department.
Meanwhile, Mrityunjay Kumar Choudhary, a 2010 batch IPS officer who held the role of DIG in the Homeguard and Fire Services Department, has been transferred to the Vigilance Investigation Bureau as DIG.
