The Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) against two senior IAS officers in two separate contempt cases. The court asked the Guntur SP to execute the warrants and bring the two officers before the court and also asked the DGP of the state to ensure the warrants are executed in a proper manner.
The first NBW was issued by Justice Battu Devanand against principal secretary (panchayat raj) Gopala Krishna Dwivedi in a contempt case filed by one M Shankaracharyulu from Kadapa. The court has asked Dwivedi to appear before it on Thursday. When the court heard the matter, special government pleader C Suman filed a memo before the court seeking exemption from personal appearance as Dwivedi had to visit Delhi for official purpose. Justice Devanand turned down the plea of the special government pleader and issued the NBW.
The other NBW was issued to BC Welfare department special chief secretary G Anantaramu.
