Everyone is well aware how some parts of India are being washed away due to heavy rains, floods, and waterlogging, these days. Such adverse circumstances raise huge concerns about wild animals living in the forests and how they protect themselves from the waters surrounding them. Raising a genuine question regarding this, Twitter user @Akhilak1993 presented a question in front of IFS officer Parveen Kaswan. His tweet read – “I am curious to know how the wild animals manage in disasters like the one happening in Himachal now… or frequent Assam floods… do they also have sm signals warnings?”

The IFS officer replied to the Twitter user, explaining how wild and migratory animals and also birds actually have the sense or knowledge to understand when an area would get flooded, which helps them in moving to higher regions to protect themselves. His tweet stated –
Yes they have knowledge. They know where to migrate during disasters. As you asked about Assam. Brahmaputra floods are annual phenomenon. Flood provides life to grasslands of Kaziranga. But wild animals know where to migrate during such time. They go to higher sides and save… https://t.co/OzBAAwjVVx
