Telangana: Major Reshuffle Ahead of Assembly Elections; IPS C V Anand Along with Other IAS, IPS Officers Transferred

13 top police officers, one IAS officer, and four Collectors have been transferred in a bid to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections

Ahead of the Telangana State Assembly elections, the Election Commission of India has ordered a major reshuffle within the state’s bureaucracy. 13 top police officers, one IAS officer, and four Collectors have been transferred in a bid to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections. Their names and postings are as follows:

  • Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has been transferred.
  • Warangal Commissioner A V Ranganath and Nizamabad police chief V Satyanarayana have also been transferred to new postings as part of this reshuffle.

In addition to these high-profile transfers, Superintendents of Police (SPs) have also witnessed a reshuffling. The following SPs have been assigned new responsibilities:

  • SP of Sangareddy – M Ramana
  • SP of Kamareddy – B Srinivas Reddy
  • SP of Jagityal – A Bhaskar
  • SP of Mahabubnagar – K Narasimha
  • SP of Nagarkurnool – K Manohar
  • SP of Jogulamba Gadwal – K Srujana
  • SP of Mahabubabad – G Chandramohan
  • SP of Narayanpet – N Venkateshwarulu
  • SP of Jayashankar Bhupalapally – P Karunakar
  • SP of Suryapet – Rajender Prasad

 Along with this, four district Collectors have also been reassigned to different districts:

  • DC of Rangareddy – B Bhoopal Reddy
  • DC of Medchal Malkajgiri – D Amoy Kumar
  • DC of Yadadri Bhuvangiri – Vinay Krishna Reddy
  • DC of Nirmal – Vishnu Reddy

IAS officer Md Musharraf Ali Faruqui, who had recently taken on the role of Director of Excise and Prohibition, has also been transferred to a new position.

Meanwhile, EC has issued a directive stating that the transferred officials should not be assigned any election-related responsibilities till the election process was over.

Additionally, the Chief Secretary of Telangana will assume additional charges of the Excise, Commercial Taxes, and Endowment departments. A full-time Principal Secretary for Excise, Commercial Taxes, and Endowment has been directed to be appointed immediately to monitor the flow of liquor, drugs, and election-related freebies on a daily basis.

Furthermore, the Director of Excise and Prohibition Commissioner, T. K Sri Devi, has also been transferred out of the department, and Secretary of the Department of Transport, K S Srinivas Raju, has been asked to vacate the office with immediate effect.
