In a significant reshuffle, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred and posted 20 IAS and IPS officers of AGMUT cadre including two from Delhi to Ladakh while swapping an IPS officer each between J&K and Ladakh.
Navin Choudhary, an IAS officer of 1994 batch, has now been transferred to Delhi. He served in Jammu and Kashmir for several years before being shifted to Mizoram.
Choudhary is likely to be appointed “in a senior position” either in the Delhi government, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi or the New Delhi Municipal Council with senior bureaucrats posted in all three due for empanelment at the Centre.
2017 batch IPS officer Shiv Kumar Sharma, Principal PTTI Vijaypur, has been shifted from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh.
While Anayat Ali Chowdhary, an IPS officer of 2017 batch and presently posted as SSP Kargil, has been transferred to Jammu and Kashmir from Ladakh.
Two IAS officers of AGMUT cadre have been posted in the Union Territory of Ladakh from Delhi.
They include Dr Laltinkhuma Franklin of 2006 batch and Vikram Singh Malik of 2012 batch.
One of the transfers will finally give Chandigarh an Advisor to the Administrator, a post equivalent to Chief Secretary in states.
Rajeev Verma, a 1992-batch IAS officer who had been serving as the Chief Secretary of Puducherry since May 2022, was transferred as Advisor to the Administrator, Chandigarh.
Mr Verma will be replaced by 1994-batch IAS officer Sharat Chauhan, who was so far the Principal Secretary, Finance, Planning and Investment in Arunachal Pradesh, as the CS of Puducherry.
