Maharatna PSU, Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Limited, won the prestigious SKOCH ESG award in the category of Renewable Energy Financing in recognition of their dedication toward upholding sustainable financing and fostering a greener future for India.
The coveted prize was handed out to the Executive Director of REC, Mr. T S C Bosh, during an event held in New Delhi.
Over the past few years, REC (operating under the Ministry of Power) has emerged as one of the most significant players in India’s clean energy sector. The think tanks of these institutions have forged many MoUs and undertaken several initiatives to meet the nation’s sustainable development goals (SDGs). REC has partnered with developers across the domains of solar and wind energy, pumped storage projects, green ammonia, and green hydrogen. The PSU has pledged to expand its clean energy portfolio significantly, which is expected to drag its valuation to Rs. 3 lakh crores by 2030.
The SKOCH ESG Awards are used to single out those organizations that showcase laudable performance in the domains of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and cater to the commitment of India 2047.
