The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) selected Mr. Arvind Kumar, the incumbent Managing Director Managing Director (MD) & CEO of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), as the next Director (Refineries) of the Maharatna PSU, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL). Mr. Kumar made the cut from a list of 12 distinguished candidates – 9 candidates from Indian Oil, 2 from BPCL and one each from CPCL and Engineers India Limited (EIL).

Mr. Kumar has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Operations Management. With a rich experience, spanning over three decades, in the domains of Engineering, Project Management, Material & Contract Management and Plant Operations & Maintenance, he is expected to guide the PSU to greater heights. Mr. Kumar shall be tasked with exercising overall control of refineries from headquarters to achieve the highest standard of efficiency in the PSU’s operation.
