Amidst a recent development, two Maharatna PSUs, National Thermal Power Corporation and Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (for the third time, after 2021 and 2023), won the coveted ATD BEST Awards 2024 for their strategic approach to talent development driving business results at an ostentatious ceremony organised in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
The ATD BEST Awards, handed over by the Association for Talent Development (ATD) based out of the USA, is one of the most esteemed international recognitions in the field of Learning and Development (L&D). It facilitates those organizations that leverage talent development as a strategic business tool and demonstrate enterprise-wide success through effective employee development practices. The ranking is calculated through a rigorous evaluation and assessment process conducted by international experts of high integrity and global eminence.
For POWERGRID, its innovative approach to adopting the latest technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, for the efficient maintenance of extensive power transmission networks and the successful execution of large-scale projects was recognised by the international agency. This recognition places the PSU among the elite organizations worldwide in the field of Learning & Development, and the award was received by Director (Personnel) Dr. Yatindra Dwivedi and CGM (HRD) Mr. Bipin Kishor Mundu on behalf of POWERGRID.
For NTPC, its exceptional performance in the HR domain on an international level, remarkable Learning and Development practices and relentless pursuit of excellence made it win the coveted award. Through this award, the world recognises how the PSU adopted a focused approach towards learning and development, embraced technology and innovation, set industry benchmarks, facilitated learning opportunities, and fostered a culture of continuous learning. The award was received by CGM (Strategic HR & Talent Management), NTPC, Ms. Rachana Singh Bhal. NTPC has become the only PSU to receive the award seven times in the last eight years!
