Telangana: 5 IAS Officers Gets Addl Charge, Dr. Ilambarithi K Made New Commissioner of GHMC

In a major administrative move, the Telangana government reassigned several IAS officers to key departments, providing additional roles for enhanced governance.

In a significant administrative shake-up, the Telangana government has reassigned several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to new posts and provided them with additional responsibilities. The reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, aims to enhance governance and streamline key sectors.

Key Appointments:

  1. Dr. Ilambarithi K, 2005 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He will now oversee urban governance, infrastructure development, and civic management in Hyderabad, one of India’s largest and fastest-growing cities.
  2. 1997 batch IAS officer N Sridhar, who currently serves as the Principal Secretary in the Scheduled Castes Development department, has been assigned additional responsibilities. He will now also take charge as the Principal Secretary of the Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Culture department. Furthermore, Sridhar will continue in his role as the Director of Archaeology, a crucial position in preserving Telangana’s historical and cultural heritage.
  3. 1998 batch IAS officer Sandeep Kumar Sultania, presently the Principal Secretary in the Finance department, has been entrusted with additional responsibilities. He will now serve as the Secretary of the Energy department, which includes holding the roles of Chairman and Managing Director of both the Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TS Genco) and the Transmission Corporation of Telangana Limited (TS Transco).
  4. IAS Dr. Christina Z Chongthu, currently serving as Secretary in the Health, Medical, and Family Welfare department, has been designated to take on the role of Director of the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (AYUSH).
  5. Dr. TK Sreedevi, IAS, who holds the post of Commissioner in the Scheduled Castes Development department, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Women Development and Child Welfare department. Her new role will involve overseeing programs related to women’s empowerment, child development, and welfare initiatives in the state.
