In a significant move that will reshape the leadership landscape of Uttar Pradesh Police, 74 IPS officers have been granted promotions to higher ranks, including several to the coveted positions of SSP, IG, and ADG. The promotion order, which takes effect in the new year, includes a range of officers across various districts and special units.
Among the 74 officers, three senior IPS officers of 2000 batch, currently holding the rank of Inspector General (IG) will be promoted to the prestigious Additional Director General (ADG) rank. These officers include Lakshmi Singh, the Noida Police Commissioner, Prashant Kumar, IG of the Lucknow Range, and Neelabhja Chaudhary, IG of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
In addition, Dipesh Juneja, currently serving as an ASP (Assistant Superintendent of Police), is one of the officers set to be promoted to ADG, a leap from the ASP rank to one of the highest positions in the state police force.
The reshuffle also includes promotions for six district police captains who will be elevated to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG). Furthermore, 20 IPS officers are set to be promoted from ASP to Superintendent of Police (SP), and 25 officers from the 2011 batch of SSP rank will be promoted to DIG.
Additionally, 10 officers currently holding the DIG rank will be promoted to IG, and 15 officers will transition from SP to SSP.
