KNOW YOUR NATURE

Mr. Anurag Verma informed that the entire process of installing QE codes has been done with the help of the school students. “First the children studied about the trees. Then all the information was generated in the QR code and pasted on the tree. If anyone needs any information about that tree, like what breed it is, how old it is etc.,it will all be easily available to him on scanning the QR code,” he said.

He further informed that all the trees in the municipal parks have been covered. QR code has been installed on more than 1 thousand trees in 71 parks of city. As soon as someone generates this code, he will have complete information about the tree in English and Hindi. Information like, what is the scientific name of the tree, what is it called in the local language, what are its benefits etc. are all available and so are pictures of flowers, fruits, medicines, food items made from that tree. Any information can be added to or removed from the code at any time.

OBJECTIVE

Mr. Verma said, “Our aim is to acquaint people with the nature around them. That is why this initiative was named ‘Know Your Nature’. Through this initiative it has become very easy for anyone to know more about trees. All one has to do is take out the mobile, scan the code, and all the information is available on the screen.”
