If you are an aspirant appearing for the UPSC CSE Prelims 2024, this Indian Forest Service officer has some tried-and-tested last-minute strategies for you. In a recent interview with Indian Masterminds, IFS officer Yash Kale shared valuable preparation strategies for the upcoming prelims.

In this video interview, Mr. Kale, who cleared the UPSC IFS exam with an All India Rank of 22, in 2022, discusses the general strategy for candidates preparing for the CSE prelims. Additionally, he shares personal anecdotes to inspire candidates. The interview also includes efficient revision techniques straight from the horse’s mouth.
Yash Kale, hailing from Nashik, always had an affinity for nature, inspired by the region’s natural beauty. Initially, he was unaware of the Indian Forest Service while pursuing his goal of joining the civil services. It was only when filling out the application form that he discovered this option. Curious, he sought information about the IFS and its profile from others.

After gathering sufficient knowledge, he decided to prepare for the IFS exam alongside his civil services preparation. Mr. Kale successfully passed the forest service exam, ultimately becoming an IFS officer. He made four attempts at the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) and two at the UPSC Indian Forest Service (IFS) exam.
He has recently completed his training at IGNFA and is awaiting his posting.
