Earth Day 2022 was observed on 22 April all around the world with the theme, ‘Invest In our Planet’, calling for businesses to shift towards sustainable practices. The day which is also known as the International Mother Earth Day is celebrated to spread awareness about issues, including the rampant increase in pollution, global warming, and deforestation, which harm the environment and result in the destruction of the planet.
The day is also considered a movement that is expected to change the business climate, political climate, and how to take action on the climate. “Now is the time for the unstoppable courage to preserve and protect our health, our families, and our livelihoods. For Earth Day 2022, we need to act (boldly), innovate (broadly), and implement (equitably). It’s going to take all of us. All in. Businesses, governments, and citizens — everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable. A partnership for the planet,” says the official website of earthday.org.
Joining the rest of the world in sharing messages on this important day, many bureaucrats in India also took to Twitter to share their wishes and messages.
IFS officer Parveen Kaswan, who is very active on the micro-blogging site, put out a quiz on the occasion to make people aware about earth day and the current scenario of forest, wildlife, and environment in India.
