From celebrating ‘World Photography Day’ to ‘World Tourism Day’, civil servants have been vibrantly involved in such activities. And they have been using various social media platforms to give vent to their exuberance.
On 27 September, ‘Daughter’s Day’ was been celebrated across the world, with fathers cherishing the day for being blessed with a daughter. As rightly said by Euripides, a tragedian of classical Athens, “To a father growing old, nothing is dearer than a daughter.” This quote by Euripides justifies how daughter’s presence in a fathers life should be admired every day.
Similarly, a father’s contribution in her daughter’s life is equally important. The sacrifices made by ‘Model Turned IFS Officer’ Aishwarya Sheoran’s fathers to ensure her success, is a case in point. Coming from a middle-class family, modeling is not the first choice parents want their daughters to opt for as a career. However, her dad Mr Ajay Kumar Sheoran who is currently serving as the Commanding Officer of NCC Telangana Battalion, accepted her request and agreed to shift to Mumbai with the whole family.
Later when she decided to appear for civil services exam, her father immediately supported her wish to become a civil servant one day. He also believed that she is smart and has the capability of clearing one of the toughest exam. He helped in her preparation by making a schedule, pointing out the important current affairs in the day and supported her in every way possible.
After appearing for UPSC 2019, she bagged AIR 93 and became an IFS officer of 2019 batch. Hence, the emotion a father shares with their daughter was rightly expressed by these civil servants on the occasion of Daughter’s Day.
Sonal Goel a 2008-batch IAS officer who is also a mother posted on Twitter and celebrated Daughter’s Day by saying “My Best Friend who brings smiles to me always. My Sweetheart, My Daughter #HappyDaughtersDay“
Nitin Sangwan, CEO Smart City Ahmedabad took to twitter and said “Though every day is a Daughter’s Day, today is one more special reason to celebrate daughters. To all the lucky parents of lovely daughters. #DaughtersDay.”
Similarly, serving as well as former civil servants took to their social media to celebrate ‘Daughter’s Day’ and shared how they came up as a blessing in their life.
Mr. Subhash Dubey, serving as DIG Range Azamgarh, also took to twitter and posted a photo with her young daughter and wrote “My daughter. My pride. #happy_daughters_day“
Kumar Ashish who is serving as the SP of Kishanganj tweeted “#HappyDaughtersDay… Today and Everyday!”
The list goes on, and includes many IAS, IPS and ex-civil servants.
