District Collector of Gopalganj, Bihar, Dr. Nawal Kishore Choudhary, believes in active public participation in developing the district. He feels it is the duty of every individual to maintain law and order in order to contribute to this development. At the same time, it is very important for the 2013-batch IAS officer, to get feedback from the public to strategise and work accordingly towards the overall betterment of the district. “The feedback and ideas from different minds coming from different fields of society help to shape a better version of it,” he says.
In an exclusive interview to Indian Masterminds, Mr. Choudhary speaks at length about his views on public participation in development works and the importance of public libraries in ensuring every house of the district gets the required source to their basic right to education. He recently renovated a 57-year-old public library, and to motivate people to donate books to it, he launched his ‘Pustak Daan, Maha Daan’ initiative. He also has a message for the UPSC aspirants to help them stay positive while they study for the examination.
