It requires great strength of character to stand up against your own if they are wrong. Retired IAS officer Vijay Shankar Pandey exhibited much of it and more when he decided to go against his own fraternity to point out the deep-rooted ills plaguing it.
He spearheaded an anti-corruption campaign inside the IAS officers, and it was an extremely challenging task, as he would found out. Casting aside all naysayers, doubts and hindrances, and with help from some of his colleagues, he managed to carry out a secret ballot voting to name the three most corrupt IAS officers in Uttar Pradesh.
In an exclusive video interview to Indian Masterminds, the courageous IAS officer, now retired, who served as Additional Chief Secretary of UP, opened up about the whole voting process and its outcome. He also expressed his dissatisfaction with the political system and shared insights on his own political party and his vision for good governance.
