As the first year of BJP-JJP comes to a closure, a major reshuffle of 34 IAS officers, 2 IPS, 1 IRS, 1 IFS, and 2 HCS officers were issued with immediate effect. The interesting part of the transfer is that the two IPS officers have been transferred to a post which is usually occupied by IAS officers.
1990-batch IPS officer Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor has been given the post of Principal Secretary in the Transport Department whereas 2006-batch IPS officer Shashank Anand has taken the position of Managing Director of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam. Under this government, Mr. Shashank is the fourth IPS officer to be relocated from policing to a non-policing office, which is usually held by an IAS.
34 IAS officers that are transferred include Dheera Khandelwal as the new ACS, Information, Anurag Rastogi as Principal Secretary of Excise and Taxation, and Principal Secretary of Irrigation and Water Resources, G Anupama as Addl.
