The state government of Andhra Pradesh ordered a minor reshuffle at police level. According to new order, three officers who were awaiting postings have been assigned with new roles while the remaining two have been transferred. The order was signed by the Chief Secreatry Nilam Sawhney.
Rajeev Kumar, a 1999 batch officer has been posted as the Additional DGP for Greyhounds and OCTOPUS (Operations). He was previously the City police Commissioner (Visakhapatnam) and was waiting for the new posting after the transfer. Similarly, C M Thrivikram Varma has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Guntur Range. The 2005 batch officer who was on the position of DIG SCRB, Crime Investigation Department was also on wait after the transfer. G Vijay Kumar has been appointed as Special Secretary (Home). Prior to this he was the DIG (Intelligence)
On the other hand Shanka Brata Bagchi will be the new Inspector General, Special Police Battalionsin, Andhra Pradesh. He has been transferred from the Anti- Corruption Bureau after serving there for around a year.
Sudheer Kumar Reddy, a 2010 batch officer will soon take charge as Superintendent of Police in the Vigilance and Enforcement Department. He has been on inter-cadre deputation from Karnataka to Andhra.
