Gujarat Government appoints IAS Officer Pankaj Kumar as the Chief Secretary

The Government of Gujarat has appointed additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Pankaj Kumar as the Chief Secretary of Gujarat on Friday.
Pankaj Kumar is a 1986 batch IAS officer who is serving as additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department of the state.

Pankaj Kumar has been chosen over two IAS officers from the 1986 batch — Dr Rajiv Kumar Gupta, ACS, Industry and Mines department and Vipul Mitra, ACS, Panchayat, Rural Housing and Rural Development department. (Credit: Twitter)

Kumar, a native of Patna in Bihar, will be replacing Mr. Anil Mukim, a 1985 batch IAS officer who is completing his extended tenure by the end of August.
As per notification by the Gujarat Government, Mr. Pankaj Kumar will take charge as the Chief Secretary of Gujarat Government on 31 August, 2021.
